Part of a series of work, entitles remembered landscapes. A retracing of my steps to Norway from Ireland, Many moons ago. I looked out from my Mountains at home, said goodbye to the lake and the trees and the ever inspiring changing irish skies. I travelled up to Norway and up along her coast, following in my mother's footsteps. She had died a few months before and I had found a map of her Norway journey she made as a young mother. I felt like I was coming home to her. When I got north up to Tromso, I stood out on a frozen lake one starlit night waiting for the northern lights. Alone freezing but Hopeful. There they came then ribboning across the skies in a multicolor flowering amongst the stars. It took my breath away and in a moment I fell back into the snow and held my mother again in my hands. This time she entered into my heart too. She stays there.
